Data on mass shootings came from Crime Prevention Research Center

Recent letters are critical of my March 27 letter on gun violence and the Million Mom March (“Statistics about gun violence are fake news,” April 8, and “Guns do kill people. That’s why the military issues firearms,” March 29) so I am compelled to respond and note that the data I used  was from the editorial section of Feb. 20 Investors Business Daily, which cited a study in the 2009 -2015 time frame.

The Crime Prevention Research Center conducted this study of global mass shootings in the period noted. It even mentions that the Norway data was skewed due to an unusual event. It would be informative reading for anyone interested in gun deaths.

Thank you for the opportunity to clarify.
